Concord, NC (March 17, 2004) – Roush Racing announced that Bob Osborne has been named the crew chief of the No. 99 Roush Racing team, effective immediately.

“I think Bob will make a great addition to the No. 99 team,” said Jeff Burton, driver of the No. 99 Roush Racing Ford Taurus. “He's an engineer by trade but he's a racer at heart. And, he shows a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and excitement about the opportunity presented to him. He's been with Roush Racing for several years and has exhibited all the skills necessary to be a leader and I believe he can help the No. 99 team get back to the top."

Osborne had been serving as director of engineering for the Roush Racing NEXTEL Cup teams. Osborne is a graduate of Penn State University and a native of Chester, Pennsylvania. He graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Osborne joined Roush Racing in 1999 as the head engineer on the No. 6 team then quickly moved his way up the ranks within the company.

"I'm excited about this opportunity," said Osborne. "Jeff Burton is one of the best drivers in the business, the No. 99 team is made up of some of the best people in the business and I'm looking forward to working with all of them."

Roush Racing is a subsidiary of Livonia, Mich., based Roush Industries that operates nine motorsports teams; five in NASCAR Nextel Cup with drivers Mark Martin, Jeff Burton, Matt Kenseth, Kurt Busch and Greg Biffle, two in the Busch Series with Martin, Burton, Kenseth and Biffle, and two in the Craftsman Truck Series with drivers Jon Wood and Carl Edwards.
