Facilities

The Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering Department has over 104,548 square feet of office and lab space that is located in six buildings that span the campus.  Our research labs are listed below:

Propulsion Engineering Research Center, The Pennsylvania Transportation Institute, Center for Acoustics and Vibration, Electrochemical Engine Center, and the following laboratories: Applied Research Lab, Internal Combustion Engine, Turbulent Combustion, Cryogenic Combustion, CO 2 Laser, High Pressure Combustion, Engineering Design and Optimization, Flame Research, Air Quality, Gas Dynamics, Structural Dynamics and Controls, Machine Dynamics, Mechatronics, High Intensity Acoustics, Noise Control Lab, Computational Acoustics, Postprocessing and 3-D Graphical Imaging, High Speed Machinery, Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing, Bus Testing and Research, Crash Safety Research, Tribology, and Two-Phase Heat Transfer, Welding Research Lab.
