SAE Team Placed Sixth in the
25th Annual Formula SAE Competition

The
Penn State Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers)
Team, (advised by Gita Talmage), competed
against 140 teams on May 18 through May 22, to finish in
sixth place at the
International 25th Annual Formula SAE Competition held
at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan. The
team also placed third in the final design competition, and
also placed third in the Robert Bosch Corporation Engine
Management System Award. The
Penn State Formula SAE team's performance improved in several
categories including: skid pad, acceleration, endurance,
and cost and business. The Penn State Formula SAE car was
the lightest 4-cylinder car in the 25-year history of this
event, weighing 369 pounds.

SAE
