Software Installation Information
File Formats
This CD contains files in the following formats, for which you
will need to have installed the appropriate viewer or application:
.htm - HTML files, require a web browser such as Netscape, Mosaic or Internet Explorer
.doc - Microsoft Word version 6.0
.ppt - Microsoft Powerpoint version 6.0
.pdf - Adobe Acrobat version 3.0
.mov - Quicktime Video
.avi - Video for Windows
Installing QuickTime:
To play .mov movies on your computer, you must have the QuickTime
movie software on your hard drive. You may install the software
following the instructions below:
**Move the three .exe files from the folder 'QTime' to your hard drive
(C:\). You will not be able to decompress the files to install
QuickTime until you perform this task.**
For Windows 3.11:
Doubleclick on qt16.exe. This will decompress the files for
installing Quicktime. Doubleclick the new executable (.exe) to
install Quicktime.
Special Installation Under Windows 95:
After installation of qt16.exe, decompress the two other executable
files:
qtplg16s.exe -> place the file (NPQTW16.DLL) in your Browser Plug-In
folder.
qtvr16s.exe -> place the file (QTWVR.QTC) in you Windows/System
directory.

Installing Video for Windows:
To play .avi movies on your computer, you must have the Video for
Windows movie software on your hard drive. You may install the
software following the instructions below:
**Move the Vfwe11.exe file from the folder 'Wfw' to your hard drive
(C:\). You will not be able to decompress the file to install Video
for Windows until you perform this task.**
Doubleclick on Vfwe11.exe. This will decompress the files for
installing Video for Windows. Doubleclick the new executable (.exe)
to install VfW.
Installing Adobe Acrobat Reader:
Acrobat and the Acrobat logo are trademarks of Adobe Systems Incorporated.
Installing Microsoft Word Viewer:
You will need either the Microsoft Word Viewer (free from Microsoft),
or the full version of Word, in order to view the .doc files. The viewer will only allow
you to view the file. If you want to edit and modify, you will need the full version of
Word. Other word processing packages, such as Word Perfect can also be used.

Installing Microsoft Powerpoint Viewer:
You will need either the Microsoft Powerpoint Viewer (free from Microsoft),
or the full version of Powerpoint, in order to view the .ppt files. The viewer will only allow
you to view the file. If you want to edit and modify, you will need the full version of
Powerpoint.
