Encoded Seat
ID's
Our original idea was to assign a frequency to a seat's unit, and then reuse the frequencies throughout the plane as needed. Because of low to no attenuation and high signal reflection due to the body of the airplane, this idea would not work. Instead we decided assign each seat a unique id, and use one frequency for all transmissions. The largest seat capacity on a Boeing plane is the Boeing 777 with one class configuration. The capacity of the plane is up to 555 passengers. Using a binary seat id, for each seat to have a unique id, the seats would require a 10-bit binary word.
