Scheduling Model

Project Abstract

PPG is currently experiencing problems in implementing lean manufacturing principles due to variability in demand and variability in the supply of raw materials.  The lack of consistency in supply and demand has forced PPG to make frequent scheduling changes.  When scheduling, PPG is also unable to compare different production schedules to determine the more cost effective schedule.
