Design Problem

Kronosport is the manufacturer of an Electric Utility Vehicle (EUV). They wish to implement an upright steering mechanism on future models to replace the side steering system used on current models. Engineering Evolutions was asked to develop this steering system based on a conceptual idea from the company.

The current steering works similar to a traditional bicycle, however the driver sits above the handle bars and steers with upright handle extensions on the side. In response to customer complaints, Kronosport would like to redesign this steering system.

Completed Solution

The solution that Engineering Evolutions developed employed a handlebar and shaft method for steering. It is supported by bearings in multiple locations along the length of the shaft.
