Visteon Driveline System Vibration Response Modeling
Problem Statement:
Generate a mathematical model to accurately portray response of a drive shaft in the form of a transfer function
Determine responses for the axial, torsional and bending directions
Experimentally test 3 shafts with different damping configurations
Validate mathematical model with experimental results
Project Specifications from Visteon:
Drive shafts modeled with free-free boundary conditions
17 Newton impact force used for excitation
Shaft 1 and 2 have a centrally located damper that weighs 0.5lbs and is 16 inches long
Shaft 3 has a damper that is the length of the entire driveshaft
