For our senior design project, we are expected to design a system that can monitor voltages within the range of -50V to +50V and currents within the range of -1A to +1A. There are several parts to this project:
BAE Systems needs a system to monitor a voltage and a current via two separate channels. The analog data is to be scaled to a range from 0 to +10V and converted into digital form to be input to an FPGA device. The FPGA will analyze the digital data, and if an out-of-range error occurs, the user will be notified through a Windows GUI program. The threshold values are to be programmed into the FPGA via a UART RS-232 connection.
