Overview
The purpose for this wind turbine is to generate power to charge a 12 V battery. This was accomplished solely by machining and purchasing of parts. There will be no casting involved. Two separate sub-teams were formed to focus on the two main parts of this project. The first team focused on the mechanism needed to harness the wind for mechanical power. The second team focused on the support for this mechanism as well as the system needed to convert mechanical energy to electricity. Both teams worked very closely with each other to ensure that the prototype fit together. The entire project was done under a cost of $800.
