Project Abstract
As a
major military contractor, Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) supplies
the United States government with a vast range of defense systems for
the underwater world, surface ships, land battlefield, the skies, outer
space, and cyberspace. We are helping NGC to validate a prototype
composite chassis, which NGC has designed and fabricated, through
verification testing. Test fixtures will be fabricated at the out
of sheet metal, aluminum, steel, etc., and will be used to mount the
chassis or other composite samples to the test equipment, such as the
vibration table or thermal chamber.
Test coupons (sample
composite pieces) will be tested to determine the material properties.
