One of the spring 2012 capstone design teams presented its final project, improving on a prosthesis allowing bilateral amputees to play recreational sports like golf and tennis, at a “First Swing/Learn to Golf” clinic hosted by the National Amputee Golf Association at the Penn State Golf Course in April.

Fourteen Penn State student engineer teams won awards at the 2012 Student Design Project Showcase on April 26. Five awards were presented to a handful of student teams competing in the 2011 Design Showcase — a competition of 92 senior capstone design projects. These awards were announced at the Industry Partners' Dinner April 28 to a crowd of 500 students, faculty, staff, alumni and industry partners.
