Students take advantage of the many career and networking opportunities at Penn State

During the fall semester, Penn State holds the Fall Career Days at the Bryce Jordan Center. This event is an opportunity for employers to come to campus and meet with students to talk about internships, co-ops, or jobs. Students have the chance to talks face-to-face with employers, learn about career paths, and make connections.

This year’s career fair was held from Tuesday, September 15 – Thursday, September 17. Students could attend days focusing on non-technical full-time careers, internships and co-ops, or technical full-time careers. Corporate, industrial, and government organizations were all represented at the career fair and employers were looking for students from every discipline. Over 240 employers from engineering-related organizations attended, with about 200 of those related to mechanical engineering about 30 related to nuclear engineering.

In conjunction with Penn State’s career fair, the mechanical and nuclear engineering department held a networking reception for students and employers. Juniors and seniors were invited to attend the event to meet with interested employers in a social setting. This year, 22 companies attended the event held on Wednesday, September 16 at the Nittany Lion Inn.
