The Advanced Multi-Phase Flow Laboratory (AMFL) of the Pennsylvania State University performs research in the area of thermal-hydraulics. The AMFL engages in designing and performing scaled experiments as well as pursuing theoretical and computational treatment of multi-phase flows. Research topics include: modeling of two-phase flow and fluid-particle interactions, the interfacial area transport model, nuclear reactor safety analysis, and two-phase flow instrumentation development. Interested students are encouraged to contact Dr. Seungjin Kim ( for additional information.
